Ja ik heb nog heel lang getwijfeld of ik Kendrick erbij moest zeettn, het is inderdaad een heel sterk album. Zo lastig als er in een jaar zoveel goede albums zijn verschenen.
Okay, well here’s a drummer conmig in to offer his opinions. Of, the five on your list, I’d agree with Tomas Haake and Danny Carey, but that’s it. Grohl has transcended merely being a drummer to the point where it’s news if he’s doing some gig where he’s just the drummer, and Freese and Luzier . well, they’ve never really fuelled my fire that much. Here’s my replacements:Gil Sharone (Stolen Babies/Pusicfer/ex-DEP)Tim Yeung (Divine Heresy)Zbigniew Robert ‘Inferno’ Prominski (Behemoth)I include Sharone for the sheer breadth and depth of his work, which also includes a stint in Fishbone and an upconmig DVD foucused on ska and two-tone, while Yeung and Prominski are two of the very few drummers I’ve ever come across with the sheer technical skill to be mentioned in the same breath as Haake.And I haven’t even mentioned Gene Hoglan yet ..
You know, you always hear about peoples successes, never their struggles or mistakes so thank you so much for being so open and honest. People tend to view successful business owners as being lucky and that is so NOT true, it is a long road and a lot of work. But of course, I would not trade it for the world and I am sure you probably feel the same. Business would be boring if there were never any challenges, right?
Oh yes. The grinding. My God, the grinding. I would stick a binky in Jack’s mouth just to make it stop. All the hair would stand up on my arms and back of my neck. I can not think of a worse sound unless it is the sound of a cat getting ready to throw up. (anyone with a cat knows exactly the sound I mean)The good news is that phase didn’t last long. of course, we don’t have molars yet so who know what terrible sounds are coming up. I’m just used to the 8 teeth he has so far!
