Los japoneses de Boris colaborarán con Ian Astbury de The Cult en el próximo EP BXI, el cual fue mezclado en Tokio, Japón, durante abril pasado. Este material muestra un nuevo perfil de ambos artistas que podrá vivirse cuando el CD se lance en abril a través de Southern Lord Records.
BXI contará con tres tracks originales y cover de Rain, tema original de The Cult, vocalizado etéreamente por Wata, guitarrista de Boris. Stephen O'Malley (Sunn O)))) se encargó del arte y diseño del redondo.
Atsuo, cantante y baterista de Boris, habla para Pitchfork de este trabajo en conjunto, mismo que nació por parte de los nipones.
"Hubo ocasiones en que tuvimos ofertas de The Cult, pero no podíamos concretarlas porque chocaba con nuestra agenda, pero queríamos hacer algo con ellos. A principio de este año durante las sesiones de grabación de Boris, pensamos que sería bueno si trabajabamos con Ian en algunas canciones.
Él no es sólo un gran cantante sino un buen tipo a nivel personal. Lo respetamos, y siempre es importante para Boris trabajar con tan respetado artista."

The Cult only had one She Sells Sanctuary? Ha ha. You are correct. Just as the Stones had only one Miss You and the Beatles only had one The Ballad Of John And Yoko. Ohhh wait. Did you mean hit song ? Oh my, ha ha, well, if that’s what you meant then why did you coitvnnenely leave out that Lil’ Devil charted even higher? Or that Rain charted slightly lower? Or whatever. The Cult never were about hit singles.
